This project uses experimental media and artistic creation to explore and safeguard the endangered collaborative fishing practice between dolphins and humans in southern Brazil, combining soundscapes, AI-generated audio, and immersive installations to redefine communication and culture beyond human contexts.

The project focuses on using experimental media and artistic creation processes to investigate and help safeguard one of the last traditional practices of collaboration between wildlife and humans in the world. Emphasizing sound, the work delves into the intricate network of more-than-human relationships at play in the collaborative fishing between dolphins and humans in southern Brazil. By developing both digital and physical frameworks to showcase and share this interspecies knowledge, we are working alongside the local community and scientists to create a series of artistic works that redefine communication, culture, and art in contexts beyond the human. Afterall, this centuries-old and unique practice is increasingly endangered by development projects that overlook their ecological consequences.

Field Work - Resonant Waters Project

The works draw on underwater recordings, AI-generated audio, and meteorological data to trigger generative processes that create digital environments reflecting these relationships. A physical installation (WIP) further immerses visitors, positioning them as fish within a modified hammock outfitted with speakers, where their movements influence the space's soundscape and lighting.

A dome projection was also created for this project: Continuous Fluctuation dolphin_line_fisher
